Due to the overnight severe weather the village of Cranleigh has been snowed in and the organisers at the R.B.L Club called off tonights sell out show due to health and safety issues as it was deemed unsafe for the general public as well as staff and band to walk and drive to the venue.

We are working with the venue and agent to reschedule this date at the earliest possible date, so please check this website for updates over the coming days

Due to personal circumstances Skins our drummer will be having a few gigs off during the next few weeks,

However we are pleased to announce that his dep for the next few shows will be CONRAD KELLY, the drummer and percussionist who played with Steel Pulse world wide for years and most recently deputised for Norman Hassan of UB40 as Conrad took on the percussion postion for UB40 for Uk and world wide shows.

The band thank Conrad for his time and ability and we all send our continued support to our man Skins at this important time .

Conrad has been a close friend of the band for many years and was only happy to fill in, whilst Skins is away on personal business, obviosuly due to his knowledge of the UB40 songs it has been extremely helpful and only a couple of hours rehearsal was needed for the comple show to be up to speed.

Johnny 2 Bad are once again performing there original material as XOVA in a headline album launch on FRIDAY 4TH DECEMBER 2009 at THE ACTRESS & BISHOP in St Pauls Sq, Birmingham.

The band and management arent in control of ticket sales which are done directly at the club, however the club has advised that tickets to club members will go on sale first and then tickets for non members will be available thereafter.

A busy week ahead as the J2B show rolls out in JERSEY on Thursday night at The Royal Yacht Club and then straight back into the mainland for our 3rd gig at the White Hart in Redditch ( only a few tickets left ) before we have a flutter at Dunstall Park in Wolverhampton on Saturday Night

At a recent gig in Liverpool , Johnny 2 Bad were the main band playing for a celeb packed wedding that included some of Hollyoaks as well as other artistes ALEXANDER O NEAL, THE REAL THING and MUSICAL YOUTH's Dennis Seaton who jumped on stage to sing PASS THE DEUTCHIE with the band, ( This should be on You tube in the next week by the way )

at the wedding in Liverpool, James took time out to catch up with Alexander O'Neal , as James had spent many tours on the road as part of Alexander's band prior to joining J2B, mutual respect alround.

Just back from the Middle East where JOHNNY 2 BAD took to the stage for the first time at THE BRITISH CLUB in Bahrain.

A packed house saw the band captivate this mainly ex-pat audience with one of the verybest shows the Island has ever seen ( thier words not our's )

With the weather at 110 degreees in the shade a great time was had by all and return is being looked at in the very near future.

|A Big thank you goes out to all the people of The Thorns, Brierley Hill, The Pier, Bournemouth & The Embassy in Selsey who once again came out in their hundreds to see the band play.

The Thorns was back to its normal self with it being red hot and overflowing with people , I dont think they let women in that place, it was nearly all lovely young women, yes we will be back there soon.

Then an early start down to Bournemouth to play for the first time at The Pier, really good time was had by the band, well looked after by the promoter and security guys and a large section of crowd supporting us, who had seen us at Butlins in Bognor, on the back of this we have just confirmed another date later in the year back in Bournemouth, and after a very late night we headed across to one of favourite gigs in the country The Embassy in Selsey where the crowd are just up for it from the very beginning, we are starting to recognise more and more familiar faces down the front now ( see photo of the girls who always are down the front dancing ) , which is really nice and helps us perform the best we can, again back down there in the summer

Last night ( New Years Eve ) we saw the year in at Badshot Lea in Surrey and had a great night with a really vocal crowd who packed the dance floor all night

2009 is already looking really busy with the XOVA PROJECT Album now finished and a video being produced for one of the tracks. Plus we go back into rehearsals to work a new show out for the new year with some old favourites coming back in as well as new routines and medleys to work out

In addition lots of shows being lined up all over the world and of course we hope to see as many of you as possible in a town near you as well.

GREAT NEWS - JOHNNY 2 BAD are going to release a new CHRISTMAS SINGLE on December 1st 2008

Titled XMAS IS HERE !! it is a new version of the traditional track Christmas is Here from way back in the day when Santa's beard was the right colour, its even older then one of the OLD members of the band !!!!

It is being sent to over 700 radio stations next week and hopefully you should start hearing it shortly after, call you local radio station and demand they play it

Its is a simple nice xmas reggae track to make you smile and dance in these extremely gloomy days.... which we think is Nice.

A bit of background on the track was that the vocals by Wayne were actually done the same day he came to audition for the band and whilst waiting for his train to go back to Wales after he impressed at the audition he popped into our studio and nailed the vocals on one take, and the rest as you say is history.

The track was part of a compliation album that our rehearsal studio was going to put out last year of xmas tracks but many tribute bands, but unfortunately it never got released, so we went back to them to get permission to release ourselves now

Hi , we are being inundated with people calling us direct to get tickets for the show at Cadburys as they dont appear to be answering the telephone very often.

Unfortunately we arent in control of any ticket sales for this show and can only advise to keep calling or to go direct to the club in Bournville Lane to buy in advance

As of Thursday when we last spoke to the club they had sold over 150 tickets with the capacity of around 250 I believe, but I know of at least 40 people who have been in touch with us.

It looks like being a great night and if not sold out, very close to it. and sorry we cant help with ticket sales

Its becoming a habit, but sorry to say for those who have left it late again, but the gig tonight has SOLD OUT at the HEARTLANDS CLUB, which is great news as we havent ever played there before, well done to Kim & Tom the promoters

As many of you know J2B have just finished recording their new album under the name of XOVA, and it is all set to take the band up another gear in the coming year.

We will of course be continuing to do the J2B show as long as you all want us to in one form or another.

This weekend see's the band playing 2 shows in one day on Saturday 20th Sept,

First in the afternoon 5pm - 6pm they will be in London headling the STOCKWELL FESTIVAL between 5pm - 6pm where they will do a mix of the J2B show and some of their new tracks from the forthcoming XOVA album

And then in the evening they hot foot it back to Birmingham to play at The Greenlands Club in the Longbridge Area AT 9.15PM

J2B were featured as XOVA on the Monday evening ITV1 Central news report about this years Birmingham Artsfest.

For those who arent aware, in Holland after the show on Saturday the band were informed that Skins son had been fatally wounded in Birmingham.

Our love, support and thoughts are with him and his family at this terrible time,

J2B have just returned from 2 amazing shows in Bolsward in Northern Holland and Strood in Kent.

The show in Holland was magical with over 2000 people lining the shore aswell as in boats on the lake in the town of Bolsward where the guys played a full set including the first live version of their own track New revolution that is taken from their new album
it really was a night to remember although tinged with sadness as at the end of the show we received some very sad news

Then it was time to take the long drive back to the UK where we arrived to once again headline at the Coach & Horses annual Reggae Party, a huge crowd got into it straight away and ended up having a great time and if time had allowed the crowd would have ensured that the band would still have been playing now. Then after a night of partying , an early departure on the Sunday morning back to the UK, Johnny 2 Bad take to the stage at 5.30pm at THE COACH AND HORSES REGGAE/ SKA PARTY , LOndon Road STROOD KENT.

The band played there last year and went down so well a return was inevitable , and with the show firing better than ever and sun shine predicted the people of Kent will have a great day .

We are just awating our on stage time for the FREE show on the Saturday 23rd August 2008 and so hope all our friends and fans in Holland make it to the show, we promise a really uptempo firing show - better than ever.

The stage we are led to bvelieve is on a barge situated on the water, so that will be a first for the band.

What a night at Kingstanding we all had this Bank Holiday Sunday when the Legendary International Reggae Star PATO BANTON jumped on stage with JOHNNY 2 BAD to perform not only BABY COME BACK but also one of his legendary live tracks GWARN.

The sell out crowd at Kingstanding ( 3rd time in a row ) went absolutly crazy as the band who had never rehearsed or played with him before mashed up the place to make an already awesome night unforgetable

Look out for the video going up on you tube and on our websites in the next week, it really was fantastic and goes to enhance the bands reputation as one of the finest reggae bands youll find anywhere

What a great weekend of Bank Holiday Gigs we have to look forward to, first on Friday night we head back to the 12 Bar in SWINDON which will certainly be a great night. The last time we played was the night of the worst floods in Living memory last year with the M4 and M5 closed and the centre of Swindon flooded, yet we still managed to get there and put a show on for the brave crowd who got there somehow... Luckily the weather is forcast to be much better.

Then on Saturday, we play St Marys and St Johns for the first time which promises to be a good night, a well reknowned venue locally that promises to become a firm favourite on our gigging circuit before Sunday heading back to Kingstanding for what is always a special gig, well looked after and fantastic crowd .

So with Bank Holiday fast approaching get out and check the show, knowing you can have a lie in and not have to get up on Monday morning.

The word is spreading fast , especially in Holland where we have just been confirmed to headline at the prestigious DOKKUM COLOSSEUM in DOKKUM Northern Holland next year on Saturday January 31st 2009

We love that country and hopefully our new found freinds from LEEUWARDEN and SNEEK will come and see us

Such is the growing reputation of Johnny 2 Bad and its brass section in particular that this week the J2B Brass section James, Stu & Andy headed down to London to work with UK X FACTOR WINNER - SHAYNE WARD.

Shayne is in the middle of putting together his UK Arena tour and needed to add some brass parts to his show and so the guys were tracked down and asked to go and jump on one of the track, which of course they did.

So if you get to the Shayne Ward Tour this year and you hear some wicked Brass lines , then you know who's playing it.

The place to be on Saturday 17th May is the Birmingham United Services Club in Gough St, Birmingham City Centre, where as a Special One Off show J2B will take to the stage to back 5 REGGAE DIVAS from Birmingham including the legendary BIBI JAMES and ROSE CAPRI who will be performing all the old hits as part of an OLD SKOOL REGGAE DIVAS NIGHT.

Friday Night saw J2B perform at Spring Meadow Club in OldHill, West Mdlands to an absolute rammed to capacity venue, helping raise funds for local charities in that area.

A big thanks to Dave Saunders and his team for looking after us so well and ensuring that the night was one to remember, hopefully we will be back there next year.

Then on Saturday we headed up to Mansfield and the INTAKE Club for the very first time, which has to be one of the best venues in the UK, great sound system, lights, people and Cheeseburgers. The venue owners ( Si & Zoe plus John the sound guy ) enjoyed themselves which is always nice and again definately confirmed as a future regular on the J2B touring map, cant wait to go back.

The next few weeks see's J2B performing at some private shows aswell as heading into the studio to start recording the album J2B2

Firstly we will be heading down to Cornwall and a great summer gig at THE BARN in Penzance, ( Wednesday August 27th ) hopefully a lot of you will be on holiday down there and can come and party with us

Whilst we were there promoting Lollipop with Asta Pilypaite ( No7 in charts ) we were asked to make a special guest appearence on their Saturday Night EUROVISION show , so whilst the judges were adding the votes to see who would represent their country in the finals J2B took to the stage with this self penned track, it was also the first time the band had ever performed fully live on TV and it was in front of over a million people just to add to the pressure.

This SATURDAY 12TH APRIL 2008 see's JOHNNY 2 BAD return to the great venue THE PALACE in Tamworth Just off the M42 near Sutton Coldfield.

It was one of the stand out venues of last year for the band with a great PA & Lighting system and viewing for the crowd, or as we like to call it A PROPER GIG !!

We want to get as many UB40 and J2B fans there as possible for a ram packed show of all the UB40 hits, we promise it will be an excellent show.

J2B Hooked up again with Lithuania's sexist pop Star ASTA PILYPAITE for a couple of shows in the UK this weekend

Asta joined J2B on stage for a special show held in Wolverhapton for the MIdlands Lithuanian Community to launch there awareness campaign for the capital city Vilnius being the Eruopean City of Culture next year and also for both artists to be awarded by the Lithuanian Ambassador.

The next night Asta made her first appearence ever in front of a totally all UK Audience at The Beacon Court in Gillingham where a near capacity crowd went wild for brillient performance on My Girl Lollipop.

Asta then flew back to Lithuania where she is presenting a TV Special on Sunday Night, we will catch up with her later this year and keep you all informed of her career aswell

Johnny 2Bad were formly congratulated by the Ambassador of Lithuania in the UK for their trip to Vilnius in January and as a thank you has declared JOHNNY 2 BAD ( and Asta Pilypaite ) as Honourary AMBASSADORS OF VILNIUS - EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2009.

The Ambassador attended thr special show held at The Polish Club in Wolverhampton on Friday 4th April 2008 where he not only saw the band and Asta Pilypaite perform storming sets but also he took to the stage to award them a commorative plaque and a special Culture Pin badge each.

J2B are already in discussion for a return trip this year to continue their special relationship with that country and release more tracks aswell as cement there involvement in the special European celebrations over there in 2009

Andy, Stuart, Wayne and James of JOHNNY 2 BAD attended the ALI CAMPBELL Concert at THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL on Thursday 3rd April, which saw the former UB40 lead vocalist take to the Stage for the first time since leaving the band.

The show include guest artists dueting with ALI including Beverly Knight, Bitty McLean, Lemar, Kim Wilde , Sly & Robbie and Pato Banton who of course is also represented by J2B manager.

They were also lucky enough to get into the After show party where they had a few minutes with Ali himself taking a few minutes out to have a chat about Johnny 2 Bad and have a photo with the guys, ( Respect is due to Ali )

As for those who know the guys they took full advantage of this opportunity and had a good chat and time with all the artists & guests from the show

A great night was had by us all

Its a big Happy Birthday to James from all the band and fans today.

We hope he has many more and we can celebrate them with him for many years to come

Last night Johnny 2 Bad took to the stage at RAF Cranwell the legendary airforce training base in Lincolnshire that has seen Prince William recently just go through its doors as well as Prince Charles , most other Royals and all the World War Two hero's such as Douglas Bader who had a leg amputated but still flew again as part of 22 squadron and also Sir Frank Whittle who formulated his ideas for the worlds first jet aircraft that took of on the 15th May 1941 there

J2B entertained the next crop of British Hero's who are in the midst of heavy training and needed a quick reggae fix to relax , J2B lads took advantage of the snooker tables and the free bar quite well and put on a fantastic show for the Air Force gentlemen and their Partners

Great News JOHNNY 2 BAD will be hooking up again with Lithuanian star ASTA PILYPAITE but this time in the UK and in fact in Wolverhampton next week on FRIDAY 4th April 2008 at the Midlands Lithuanian Society Party being held at the POLISH Club on the Stafford Road in Wolverhampton ( Doors at 7pm)

J2B Manager Steve Hughes was tonight asked to appear on the Paul Franks show on Radio BBC WM to comment on the departure of UB40 keyboard player Mikey Virtue.

After listening to a small soundbite of Brian Travis from the band . Steve talked about how J2B are going from strength to strength and what a shame the Ub40 situation is and that he hoped it could be resolved quickly and amicably.

The Ambassador of Lithuania met up with the band on Tuesday night to thank them for helping to promote Lithuania in such a positive way and creating massive awareness about his countries Arts, Culture, music and toruism through our BBC mini documentary that has travelled the World via Internet.

In addition to shaking all the guys hands, buying them a drink and promising to bring the guys back to Lithuania in the summer, he also took time out to make a telephone call to Asta Pilyapaite in Vilnius via Satalitte phone to thank her personally for helping honour the country with Johnny 2 Bad.

In attendence was also Keith Stokes - Smith the Lithuanian Honoury Consul, Commercial Attache Olga Stravinskiene, Birmingham Lithuanian Community chairwomen Irena Hughes and of course the man who helped make it all happen on a massive scale Ben Sidwell from the BBC

The J2B news story on the BBC internet site had the most viewers anywhere on the BBC WEBSITE ACROSS THE WORLD, on Wednesday.

It got almost 7 times as many people watching it than the next most popular story, which was actually about RADIOHEAD, and the third story which was on a ship sinking !!!

The figures were around the 10'000 + mark in just 24 hours and in terms of people stopping and watching over 7 minutes on the internet is massive exposure.

In fact we are told some of this years biggest stories including the Heathrow Plane crash didnt get much more exposure, and even taking into account the plane crash coverage the J2B / Asta story is still in the top BBC 20 web stories, which we are really proud about and we thank you all for checking out, keep spreading the word......

Great news after the radio interview on BBC last week now BBC TV NEWS are coming out to film J2B whilst on their promo tour of Lithuania, including filming of them on TV shows and the live launch of the LOLLIPOP Track and Asta Pilypaites album.

Filiming has already begun with the BBC coming to our centreparcs gig on wed 3rd Jan in Longleat to film some of the live show and initally pre tour interviews.

The news report is expected to be aired on BBC Midlands on Friday 11th Jan 08, and also available on line BBC.co.uk.

Also all the Lithuanian Tv shows will be available on the internet to view and we will advise links accordingly

BRITISH REGGAE BAND BECOME THE FIRST TO CHART IN LITHUANIA


Birmingham reggae band JOHNNY 2 BAD who started life as a tribute to legends UB40 are now on the verge of having success in their own right with a collaboration with Lithuania's Biggest female pop star ASTA PILYPAITE

JOHNNY 2 BAD who comprise of musicans from the backing bands of PATO BANTON, MUSICAL YOUTH and APACHE INDIAN were approached by ASTA PILYPAITE whilst she was in the UK for shows recently after she had Heard the bands debut album UNCOVERED.

The track MY BOY / GIRL LOLLIPOP the Old Millie Classic has been Reggafied by the band and went straight into the Lithuania Top 20 three weeks ago and has now moved up to number 11 and on course for a Xmas Number 1 .

JOHNNY 2 BAD also become the first British Band to Sing in LITHUANIAN as lead singer Wayne Lawrence adapted to learn the language to add vocals not only in english but also n Lithuanian

ASTA PILYPAITE is the equilvalent of Kylie Minogue in her home land, having many Number one albums, Gold Discs and is also presenting their versions of STRICTLY COME DANCING and We GOT TALENT TV shows

The band are lined up for a full promotional tour in Lithuania from January 6th - 13th to include all the leading TV and Radio programmes and 3 live shows

For the 3rd time this year J2B rode into Holland and stormed the place.

With the all new stage show and lineup, the crowd went wild singing and dancing for the full two hours concluding in 2 encores.

Work is nearly complete on the first ever LIVE CD recorded recently around the UK
Hopefully it will be available from January 08 at gigs or via the website, watch out for further news shortly

After a tortuous 6 hours journey down to Maidstone ( Orchard Spot) on Friday Night due to incredible motorway delays, J2B pulled out a non stop show only to have a stroke of bad luck leaving Kent at 1am when our hired Minibus tyres exploded, leaving us stranded untill after midday and being rescured by some great tyre company lads, we eventually got back into the Midlands for the Perton Civic Centre gig ay 6.30pm with half an hour to spare till the doors open and although, NO Sleep in 48 hours , The band put on one of there best shows to date with the crowd having a ball and only goes to highlight what ever the circumstances THE SHOW MUST ALWAYS GO ON. !!

J2B have been confirmed as one of the main acts on the ACORN TRUST - ARCHIES IN THE PARK - TRIBUTE FESTIVAL 2008 being held at The Walsall Arboretum on Saturday 16th August 2008, other tribute acts include amongst many Coldplay, Robbie Williams and Madness.
A crowd of approx 10'000 per day is expected with all profits going to the Acorn Charity Trust, watch the web site and press for more information

After some great gigs in Jersey, Butlins and back in the Midlands J2B are gearing up for a return to Holland ( 3rd time this year ) to work with one of our favourite promoters Bobby Feenstra and play at the great Muzikcentrum Schaaf venue in down town Leeuwarden ( Sat 8th Dec 07 )

The last time was a great night and this time will be even better as we are being followed by aload of J2B fans from the UK.

The Dutch UB40 fans ( and J2b fans ) have been really important to us over the last year or so and we intend to put on a really special show for them to show how the new look J2B works, we promise you , you will be blown away.

We will bring copies of the album over as requested and look forward to meeting you for a drink (!) after the show

J2B have just re-recorded the track LOLLIPOP from their first album UNCOVERED with Lithuanian pop star ASTA PILYPAITE ( www.astapilypaite.lnfo). Asta who is regarded in similar fashion to Kyle Minogue in the UK has mutli platinum albums and hits behind her name and is at present the main TV presenter in Eastern Europe for the STRICTLY COME DANCING show, The song is sung in both languages with Wayne Lawrence showing his vocal ability by singing not only the English parts with Asta but also lead vocals in Lithuanian.

For all those that couldnt make it to the ASYLUM gig in Birmingham last night, you missed what we feel to be one of ur best ever performances and with out doubt the best sound and lighting we have worked with in the UK to date

A Massive Thank you to all of you who made it to the gig from Swansea, Sheffield , Edinburgh and the Midlands.

We had a lot of fun on stage and it was great to talk to ALL of you after the gig.

If there is any justice in the world The Asylum will rapidly become one of the most famous venues in Birmingham and the UK as it is run by great people ( Jacqui & Roy ) and as mentioned has the most kick ass quality EV PA system around plus great lighting and sound engineers in house ( Tim & Trev ).

We will be back there before too long and if there is one venue and gig you need to support in Birmingham City this is the one KEEP MUSIC LIVE, SUPPORT LIVE REGGAE MUSIC.

Friday night we are back at THE STADIUM in Kings Heath where Keith the manager always looks after us and the crowd great...there are tickets available on the door for sure

Then on Saturday we are back at DUNSTALL PARK race course in Wolverhampton where you can enjoy the band and have a flutter on the Horses, unfortunately you cant just pay to see the band but have to buy a £25 ticket to cover the racing aswell ( no guest lists available either unfortunately ) but it is worht it a GREAT NIGHT OUT.
